Yeah it is still hit or miss.  I am thinking of checking out Dazzle or another I seen called Elgato.  I had one EZcap that worked perfectly-let a friend borrow it and so now I am out that money.  This one has been terrible.  I assume it has to be the EZcap itself, because it has given BSOD on two different computers.  Sometimes I get thru a full tape, other times I don't.  With the life on my Betamax at an unsure point, I am going to have to go a different route, unless someone can tell me the options towards getting this fixed (hardware or software).  I hate to be a jerk and bring up competition, but I need to get these done-I have been sitting on them too long.

I realize this has been over a year.  I stopped using it, and recently got a new computer and started using it again.  It was working fine for a few weeks, but now it is doing Blue Screen of Death every once in a while.  It is weird.  Does anyone have an answer?  Recently it has been when I open the capture device and do not press "capture" button right away.  How do I send it back to get replaced if it is faulty?  or am I out the money?

It will not work with audacity. I requires a video feed at the same time.

The drivers are installed correctly.Looks like the unit is faulty. Please pm me your full name and address and we will test and send a new one.

Sorry, but Arcsoft Showbiz won't even show me a source.

In Windows device manager two devices are listed once I plug the ezcap in:
"USB 2861 Video" under "Imaging devices" and
"USB Audio Device" under "Audio Video and Game controllers"

The USB Audio Device never shows any movement on the level display in the recording devices window and I can't hear anything if I record off of it with audacity, for example. Shouldn't there be sound on this recording device?

We have no knowledge of OBS. Is the sound working when you use Arcsoft Showbiz?
If so, you would be better asking on the OBS forum

EzCAP 116 to gaming console / No Audio Capture (Win10)

Hi!

I've received a new unit a couple of days ago and can't get audio capture to work (video capture works fine, I've connected a PS2 and a SNES and could see the video image of both in OBS Studio) in Windows 10.

The audio devices are displayed in the Windows device manager without any remarks, their levels are maxed but there is no sound being recorded. It's just mute.

Reinstalled the drivers from the disk and also tried a couple of different drivers I found in blog posts that dealt with similar problems, but none of them work.

I have also tried changing the driver from the automatically used "USB EMP Audio Device" to "USB Audio Device" as described here: http://www.ezcap.tv/forum/index.php?topic=25.0 but to no avail.

General Help / audio distortions on W10
« Last post by rmccown on May 19, 2016, 11:51:47 PM »
hello,

since updating to W10 this device has become somewhat unwieldy. earlier this week i could no longer pull up the video either. but after following the guidelines from this post (http://www.ezcap.tv/forum/index.php?topic=1475.0) i was able to fix the video.

the problem now is the audio. as USB EMP it stutters noticeably. i've switched from USB EMP to USB audio as per this post (http://www.ezcap.tv/forum/index.php?topic=25.0), and that has made the sound functional, but clearly a little off key. is there a fix to make it any better?
